Where to Stay in Amsterdam for a November Concert at the Ziggo Dome

A practical guide to Amsterdam and Noord-Holland hotel bases for a mid-November 2026 gig, with real neighbourhoods, stations and rough price bands.

First, pin down the venue before you book

The Good Charlotte Motel Du Cap EU/UK tour reaches Amsterdam on 16 November 2026, and the official listing does not yet name a venue. In this city, arena shows of that size almost always land at the Ziggo Dome in Zuidoost, a short walk from Bijlmer ArenA station, or occasionally at AFAS Live next door. Check the official Ticketmaster page before you commit to a hotel, because the difference between Zuidoost and, say, the Johan Cruijff ArenA across the road is small, but a move to the Melkweg or Paradiso in the centre would change your plans entirely.

November is a sensible month to visit: hotel rates drop well below the summer peak, the museum queues shrink, and the Christmas lights along the Herengracht and the Kalverstraat usually switch on in the second half of the month. The trade-off is weather — expect 8°C days, wind off the IJ and frequent drizzle. Treat the concert as the anchor of a three-night city break rather than a single overnight, and you will get better value from both the train fare and the room.

Staying near the Ziggo Dome

If the show is confirmed for Zuidoost, the most practical base is around Bijlmer ArenA. Hotels in the immediate cluster — the area around Arena Boulevard and the Johan Cruijff Boulevard — are built for event nights and typically run €110–170 for a double in mid-November. You can walk to the doors in ten to fifteen minutes, and after the show you are back in your room before the Metro queues clear. Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA is also a direct train stop from Schiphol, roughly 15 minutes, which suits a late arrival.

The trade-off is that Zuidoost is not a sightseeing neighbourhood. It is a modern business and residential district with a large shopping centre and good Indonesian and Surinamese restaurants, but no canals. Two nights here is plenty. If you want the postcard Amsterdam experience, book Zuidoost only for the concert night, then move to the centre; splitting a stay is easy because the Metro from Bijlmer ArenA to Centraal takes about 25 minutes.

The centre, and which quarter suits you

For a first visit, I would book the Canal Ring between Leidseplein and the Rembrandtplein — the streets around the Leidsegracht, Reguliersgracht and Utrechtsestraat. Mid-November doubles here sit around €150–220, and you can walk to the Rijksmuseum, the Nine Streets and dozens of cafés. From Leidseplein, tram 1, 2 and 5 run to the centre, and the night bus network covers the ride home from Zuidoost after the show. Oud-West, around the Overtoom and Kinkerstraat, is slightly cheaper and full of good local places to eat.

Avoid the Red Light District and the Damrak strip unless you want crowds and noise at 2am; the hotels there are the worst value in the city. If you prefer quiet, look at the Plantage and the Eastern Docklands — the area around the Oosterpark and the Java-eiland — where you get more space for the money and quick tram or Metro connections. Haarlem, 15 minutes by train from Amsterdam Centraal and 20 minutes from Sloterdijk, is a genuinely good alternative if you want a calmer base with a historic centre.

Getting around, and the booking decision

Schiphol is the obvious arrival point, with trains to Amsterdam Centraal every few minutes and a journey of 15–20 minutes. Buy a paper or digital ticket from the machines rather than the staffed desk. For getting around, an OV-chipkaart or a contactless bank card works on trams, buses and the Metro; a day ticket covers the city. Cyclists have priority on almost every street, so look before you cross a bike lane. If the concert is at the Ziggo Dome, plan on arriving 45 minutes early — bag checks at the arena are slow.

My recommendation: two nights near Leidseplein or in Oud-West for the city, and one night at Bijlmer ArenA for the concert if you want zero hassle afterwards. Book the room before the event date is formally confirmed; Amsterdam hotel prices for mid-November rise once dates are announced and inventory tightens. Skip the Damrak hotels and skip a car — parking in the centre runs to €30–50 a day. Noord-Holland's other towns, Alkmaar and Hoorn among them, are lovely but too far for a late-night return.

Good to know

Questions answered

Is the venue for the Amsterdam show confirmed?

The official Ticketmaster listing does not name a venue at the time of writing. Check that page for the confirmed location before booking accommodation, since the venue determines whether Zuidoost or the city centre is the smarter base.

How do I get back to the centre after the show?

The Amsterdam Metro runs late from Bijlmer ArenA, with a journey to Centraal of around 25 minutes, and night buses cover the centre. Allow time for the crowd to clear at the arena before heading to the station.

When is the best time to book a November hotel?

Book several months ahead, ideally before the concert date is widely promoted. Mid-November is low season in Amsterdam, so doubles in the Canal Ring typically run €150–220 and Zuidoost hotels €110–170, with less choice the later you leave it.
