Beth Hart at AFAS Live, 1 December 2026: trains, trams and a cheap overnight in Noord-Holland

How to reach the AFAS Live arena by rail and tram from Haarlem, Zaandam, Alkmaar and Hoorn, and where to sleep afterwards without paying Amsterdam prices.

Booking, timing and what December in Noord-Holland feels like

Book the hotel before the concert tickets if you can. A Tuesday in early December is low season for leisure travel in Noord-Holland, so rates are softer than spring, but arena nights do tighten the handful of hotels within walking distance of Bijlmer ArenA. Cancellation-friendly rates are worth the small premium here. Bring a proper coat: the walk from the station is exposed, and December evenings on the boulevard are cold and often windy.

For a single gig, I would book one night in Zaandam, take the train in mid-afternoon and use the extra hours for the Zaanse Schans or a walk along the Zaan. For a weekend, base yourself in Haarlem and treat Amsterdam as a day trip. Our most-read page on the Zaandam and Zaanse Schans area is a good starting point, and the Taemin transport guide covers the same Bijlmer ArenA route in more detail. Confirm the show details on the official AFAS Live site before you travel.
