The best of the bunch
Landal parks (Beach Resort Ooghduyne, Sluftervallei on Texel) top the list — dogs allowed in most cabins for $8 a night, fenced yards on many units, and off-leash dune walking nearby. Fletcher Badhotel Egmond aan Zee is second: $15 a night per dog, water bowls in the lobby, and the beach is 300 meters away and dog-legal outside July-August peak hours. Hotel de Beurs in Hoorn is my urban pick — old-town canal views and no per-night pet fee under 15kg.
Texel is the dog holiday
If you have a dog, just go to Texel. The ferry is $4 each way for pets, half the island's beaches allow off-leash running outside summer peak, and roughly 40% of Texel accommodations are explicitly dog-friendly. Base yourself in De Koog or Den Hoorn. Rooms $130-$200 in shoulder season, higher in July-August.
Where dogs are NOT welcome
Skip most 4-star Amsterdam center hotels — Waldorf Astoria, De L’Europe, Pulitzer either forbid pets or charge $75+ per night. The Hoxton Amsterdam is a rare exception with a $30 flat fee. Airbnb is often easier than hotels for dogs in Amsterdam proper.
