Chains that just work
Every Van der Valk in Noord-Holland (Amsterdam-Amstel, Volendam, Amsterdam-Schiphol, Zaandam) has multiple 22kW AC chargers and usually 2-4 fast DC chargers on-site. Fletcher hotels are catching up but coverage is patchy — always confirm connector type. Rate is typically bundled or at cost, around $0.45 per kWh, cheaper than public fast chargers at $0.75-$0.90.
Amsterdam center EV strategy
Charging in the canal district is a nightmare — most historic hotels have no parking at all. Best plan: book a hotel near Sloterdijk or Zuidas with charging (Mövenpick, Hilton Doubletree Amsterdam) and tram in. Or use P+R Olympisch Stadion which has 40+ chargers and a two-tram ride to center.
Rural and coastal
Texel is well-covered — most hotels in De Koog have at least one AC charger, and there are Fastned stations at the ferry terminal on both sides. Bergen, Egmond and Castricum all have hotel charging plus municipal chargers within 200 meters.

Do I need my own charging cable?
For AC yes, bring a Type 2. DC fast chargers have tethered cables.
Are hotel chargers first-come or reservable?
Van der Valk lets you book at check-in. Everywhere else is first-come. Arrive by 6pm on weekends.
